IMW – Hana Kimi Japanese Remake

It took me quite some while before I could get around in watching the Japanese remake. For one I’m such a fan of Oguri Shun and secondly there were mixed reviews about this remake. I really don’t understand the popularity of Hana Kimi, maybe is because of the fact, of it being an adaptation of it’s manga. I’m still yet to watch the Taiwanese version and the Korean version that was aired this year.

Enough with the background story……. Here’s the trailer… I don’t know if it’s me or it’s YouTube, I can’t seem to be able to find the trailer of this version….. On second thought, it’s nobodys fault but that of the copyright whatever. So…… there won’t be a trailer for this  😦

Unto the review, as you might have seen, there’s a long list of casts, but there’s actually more…… I just had to skip on them.

I don’t know how many of you have watched the 2007 Hana Kimi Japanese version or even read the manga…. I haven’t read the manga either, I have it on my external disc lol. Back to the live action versions, I didn’t know I would like both Japanese versions, but they are both equally good in their own rights.

Hana Kimi is generally about a girl that applies into an all boys school (we all know how they do it – they cut their hair, bind their breasts and try to act like boys, but seriously??!!! They always look so fragile and pale compared to the boys….), just because she wanted an idol of hers, that used to be an athlete, to be able to jump again.

You ask, what makes this 2011 Japanese version any different?? This version was neatly wrapped up and well ”packaged”. There were some characters (the doctor/nurse, the psychic….) in 2007 version that weren’t well developed, but in this version, these characters had more story and were well developed (Between, that doctor was yummy hehehe). The plot of HKJR was also more solid compared to the 2007 version. I also loved the end….. The end of the 2007 version was also okay, but it could have been better and in my own opinion, I think the HKJR has a perfect ending…… I know I still have 2 more versions to watch… Yeah, but for now HKJR nailed the ending. There were some scenes, that got me rolling on the floor lol!!! There was also a twist to the plot, which makes it more different.

How come I skipped on the performance of the cast??….. Okay, I wasn’t expecting much from Nakamura Aoi, but he portrayed the Sano Izumi’s role well, Miura Shohei and Maeda Atsuko also acted their role well; they were really impressive.

As I’ve earlier said, both version are equally good in their own rights, but it’s advisable not to watch both dramas consequently, if not you will end up comparing them and you might not be able to enjoy watching the dramas. That’s one of the reasons it took me so long to watch this version. I so LOVE the bromance between all the cast…. It’s really awesome!!!

Have fun watching both version!!! Most of the casts were such eye candies ~giggles~
