The first thought that crossed my mind after seeing this – my ideal (lazy) Saturday or Sunday.

Saying For The Week

Excerpt from Like the Flowing River by Paulo Coelho.

Another drama off my list – Iron Ladies (姊的時代), a Taiwanese drama that depicts the lives of 3 older sisters. The struggles they face while trying to balance work, relationship, and friendship. At first glance, it comes across as any other drama that focuses on older women. However, IL tries to give the plot a twist. The tropes featured include; several kinds of relationship older woman-younger man, single-divorced, same age, boss-employee, and a threesome relationship, single-mother with a teenage kid, and affairs. The problems and possible solutions for the relationships were depicted. How the story of each female develops is pretty interesting. I tried understanding Ching-Ching, but I couldn’t. Not only did he have a mistress, but he also proposed to bring her into the house and she agreed. Moi was mindblown, and they claim to be a happy family of three. It took Ching-Ching such a long time to finally take the bull by the horn. All three ladies actually compliment each other, as they have such different characters. One of my favourite scenes is the last scene with Ma Li Sha and Chou Kai Ting. CKT turned down MLS offer to re-employee her, and she went on to tell MLS that she would rather focus on achieving her dreams rather than trying to raise sales and climb higher the corporate ladder. MLS didn’t try to persuade her and CKT wasn’t also envious that MLS got the position of General Manager that she has toiled so long for. Instead, they gave each other their blessings and they are still friends. Whosoever was in charge of their wardrobe deserves an award. The stylist(s) managed to nicely pair the wardrobe of the actresses to their characters. CKT’s style is my favourite! I rated it 8 out of 10.

Two books off my list – Our Glamourous Time (你和我的倾城时光) by Ding Mo (丁墨), and Like the Flowing River by Paulo Coelho. I highly recommend LTFR, it’s one of those books that can be re-read over and over again. Imma just place it neatly and nicely on my shelf.

Last week was crazy!! My plate was not only full but it was also overflowing lol! After several weeks of training, the inter-hall competition was held. Although we couldn’t defend our title, we were still able to snag the position of the 1st and 2nd runner-up. I rounded off the week by going on a leisure hiking and had a nice Thai food for dinner. So, now it’s time to look into the new week 🙂
